Do you need to whip up something super quick and easy for dinner tonight, but that also tastes delicious and is healthy? If so, this zoodle recipe is for you!

 

What you need:

20 oz Zucchini “Noodles”

1 Jar of Marinara Sauce

1 lb of Lean Ground Turkey

 

Those are your 3 ingredients (other than olive oil and S&P)….You can make your own zucchini noodles with a spiralizer or take some help from the store like I did and buy them already made. When you are looking for a jar of marinara sauce, look for one that does not have sugar added. The last thing is your ground turkey, I usually use one that is about 93% – 97% lean.

Spray a skillet with olive oil cooking spray or use a small amount of olive oil and cook the zoodles over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until they are tender. Toss regularly and season with salt and pepper.

In another skillet add your ground turkey and cook on medium heat. Season with your favorite seasoning. (I use Butt Rub for a little kick, but salt and pepper works just fine.) Cook through until no longer pink, about 8 minutes.

Heat your sauce in the microwave or on the stove until warmed through.

Then to plate, simply add the amount of zoodles you would like into your bowl, then the ground turkey, marinara sauce, and stir together. Enjoy! (This would also be great with some parmesan cheese on top.)

This blew my mind! The picture below is 2oz of pasta noodles measured out. Just that small amount has 41g of carbs! So if you are craving some pasta, by adding in zoodles you can eat so much more, without letting your carbs get out of control!
