I really love starting my day out with this smoothie, especially on a rest day when my carb intake is lower. I was on a mission to come up with a low carb/low sugar smoothie recipe. When you go to Smoothie King or other juice bars their smoothies are usually loaded with fructose sugar from all the fruit. This can cause a spike in your blood sugar which can lead to a crash and you craving more sugary carbs shortly later.
Instead I have made this smoothie packed with protein, healthy fats, and fiber to help with satiety and avoid a future crash. And an added bonus, I’m getting in collagen!
What You Need:
1 scoop of your favorite Chocolate Protein Powder
1/2 tablespoon Almond Butter
1 scoop Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (optional)
1 tbsp Chia Seeds
2/3 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
2/3 cup Ice
Put the above ingredients in a blender and blend!
Macros: 10g carbs, 10g fat, 35g protein and 6g fiber
