Today we are 16 weeks in! (to be honest I thought it was 17 weeks, but saw the reality on my pregnancy app this morning..ugh) I continue to feel good, just tired by the end of the day! It seems like I’ll have a lot of energy for 2-4 days, and then kind of a crash day where I don’t have much energy, and it’s just that cycle on repeat. But happy to get a lot done when I do have that energy!

We announced on social media during week 15 that we were expecting!

Jaxon has named the baby “Suzie” and calls her that several times a day haha.

We went down to Nashville over Memorial Day weekend for Ryan to compete at the CrossFit Regional. It was so much fun to bring Jax and have him cheer on daddy! We ate at some great restaurants and explored the city. However, I slept in the same bed with Jaxon and got zero sleep! Kicked and elbowed all night long. He fell asleep each day at the venue so no nap for me, and by the end of the 3 days it caught up to me! Jax and I both slept 12+ hours that Sunday night when we got home haha!

The naps I was talking about…

I’m happy to be back in the gym at least 5 days a week, even with some second trimester modifications. Here is what I have changed/eliminated:

  1. No more bench press (sub push press so not lying on back)
  2. Just started doing push-ups on a box/bar to get full range of motion (see video: IMG_2218.TRIM)
  3. No more full burpees, sub plank burpees (see video:IMG_2219.TRIM)
  4. No more rope climbs, just to be safe
  5. No more GHD sit-ups
  6. I did this first trimester (and I’ve always worn one during every workout before I was pregnant) but I wear a heart rate monitor chest strap and keep an eye on my HR and make sure I’m not at 90% and above for too long of periods at a time.
  7. No more Bar Muscle-Ups
  8. I’m excited to still be running, last time had to stop by 20 weeks because it was so uncomfortable..hope I can keep it up!
  9. Just lighter weights with all my lifts in general. I go more off of feel and what I am comfortable with.

My allergies and eczema are doing so much better and I would say are 90% under control for the time being…I’m going to be trying out some new natural products soon, and will keep you updated.

How far along?  16 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 3lbs (123lbs)
Maternity clothes? Not yet! (but way bigger belly already this time around!)
Sleep: Sleeping through the night
Best moments: Feeling her move for the first time, and taking Jaxon a few weeks ago to Nashville to watch Daddy compete at the CrossFit Regionals! Completing Murph RX in under an hour, it was so HOT but so happy to do it again this year and with baby girl : )
Miss Anything? Bar Muscle-Ups haha, and a cold beer sitting outside at dinner on a warm Summer evening.
Movement: Yes, slight butterfly like movements
Food cravings: Nope.
Workouts: Back in the gym about 5 times a week! I’ve been doing the CrossFit and Beats classes at Three Kings, and the occasional workout on my own at the YMCA. I’ve also had to make modifications in some workout movements this trimester, like mentioned above.
Macros: Back on track here, added 200 calories a day this trimester, and if I go over on this or that, or really want something that doesn’t fit, I eat it!

16 Weeks

I’ll check-in with another update after our 20 week appointment! I can’t wait to see her again and how big she’s gotten during that ultrasound.
