If you guys haven’t heard the news, we are having a baby! A baby girl, due on November 22nd, Thanksgiving Day! We are beyond excited and so is Jaxon.

I guess I am more than anything doing these “bumpdate” blogs for myself to have and look back on. I know it’s not what I normally blog about, but I’m going to put these under the “family” tab, and if you want to keep updated on my pregnancy journey this time around, feel free! And if not, I totally understand! I’ll also try to include tips/tricks, favorite products, etc. as we go along.

First trimester was a rough one for me! I think maybe because I have a toddler this time around. Very tired, all the time, napping daily was a must! Nothing sounded good to eat, got sick multiple times, just yuck! Probably why I didn’t gain any weight first trimester, however by looking in the mirror, could tell that I lost lean mass and gained fat.

I also found out last Fall that I was allergic to many different chemicals. I was patched tested to narrow it down and figure out what I needed to avoid. I thought I had done a good job of eliminating literally every beauty product, cleaning product, detergent, etc. in our house. I would have outbreaks of eczema around my eyes, and swelling, on my neck and arm. Well the week I found out I was pregnant (March 14th), my eyes were almost swollen shut, the eczema was so itchy and burning on my face and just terrible. I switched allergy doctors and long story short (maybe will write a separate post on this allergy journey) we got things back under control. God Bless Dr. Patterson!!

 

So we were off to a shaky start, and then hopped on a plane and left the country for 11 days! Italy was amazing, however I missed out on a lot being so sick, mostly nausea and vomiting. The windy roads of Tuscany on a 20 passenger Mercedes van was not my friend! I even missed our day in Florence. (Again, I owe you guys a travel blog on Italy!) But I got a taste of Italy, saw some amazing things, and really want to go back when I can drink, eat all the foods, and not spend hours and hours in bed exhausted and sick! We’ll be back!

 

So first trimester was a little rough to say the least, BUT…we are finally in the clear and I am feeling like a whole new person!!

How far along?  12 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: None (120lbs)
Maternity clothes? Not yet! (but way bigger belly already this time around!)
Sleep: Sleeping through the night
Best moments: Finding out we are having a sweet baby GIRL with Ryan over breakfast at Patachou and then sharing the news with close family and friends at a cookout at our house!
Miss Anything? A cold glass of champagne & wine, especially when we were in Italy!
Movement: Nope
Food cravings: Bagels and cold fruit, nothing really too crazy.
Workouts: I found out I was pregnant the second week of the CrossFit Open. I was so nervous I would have to tell people because they would be able to tell. Luckily it was so early I was still able to perform okay. Only made it to the gym first trimester, (before week 6 almost daily) after week 6, like once or twice a week. Walked a ton in Italy but it totally wore me out!
Macros: Didn’t track, didn’t eat much other than bland carbs.

End of First Trimester (12 weeks +6 days)

 

I’ll try to do these updates, not too often, but maybe every 3-5 weeks or so…

    Congratulations!! That is so exciting!! I’m so sorry you’ve had such a rough start :(. But glad to hear things are getting better.
