Travel Guide: How We Spent 48 Hours in Vegas

The Hotel: For this trip we really wanted to check out the new Resorts World, which sits across from the Wynn, on the strip. The resort has only been open for about 3 months. Everything was new and clean! The cool thing about Resorts World, is that it’s three hotels in one. The Hilton (lower price), The Conrad (mid-price) and The Crockfords (high-end), so essentially there is something for everyone. Each hotel has its own lobby and check-in, and elevators. Our room with the Conr[...]

Travel Guide: A Family Vaca in Clearwater Beach, FL

Over my birthday weekend, we decided to take a long weekend vacation to Clearwater, FL. Kind of our last little getaway as a family of three, before baby arrives in November. I love writing these travel blogs, and letting people know great restaurants to eat at, places to stay, etc. in cities we travel too. I know I look for blogs to get tips on these things before we travel to a new city, and what I hate the most is wasting a meal opportunity in a new city, on something that isn't great haha![...]

Travel Guide: 10 Days in Italy

Italy, what can I say? It's a truly magical place! My pictures don't do it justice. From the food to the history, it was an amazing trip, and we will be back! Here is how we spent 10 days in Italy.   Day 1: Travel & Tuscany Arrival We left the Indy airport at 2:50pm and had a short connection in Dulles. Then we were off to Rome, where we landed the next morning at 8:00am. We flew United and they were great. So many meals, snacks and movies : ) Once we arrived in Rome we foun[...]

What to Pack for the Pool

Here in Indiana we basically went from Winter to Summer and skipped Spring, logging one of, if not, the hottest May on record! At least now that Memorial Day weekend has come and gone, all the pools are open for some heat relief and entertainment for the kiddos! Tuesday I got us all packed up for the pool, and I forgot it can be work, the snacks, the lunches, the toys, towels, swim diapers, drinks, etc. not to mention the extra laundry it creates (and I only have one kid). So to make things e[...]

A Quick Break….and We’re Back!

Good Morning! I am so sorry I have been MIA for the past few weeks, maybe even longer... Ryan and I just got back from Italy, and leading up to the vacation was lots of preparation for leaving Jaxon for almost two weeks, laundry, packing, you know the drill. Needless to say the cooking and blogging kind of got put on the back burner. BUT I'm back! Italy was so inspiring, and I can't wait to get back in the kitchen and back in a healthy eating routine, and sharing it with all of you. I'm go[...]

Travel Guide: Carmel, CA

About a month ago, Jaxon and I went on a little adventure, out to Carmel, CA. Ryan was gone for his National Sales Meeting, and we decided a week alone, in January, in Indiana was a no-go! So we packed our bags and headed out to Carmel, CA to visit my grandparents!   The Hotel: Well, this trip there was no hotel...we stayed at Hummingbird Manor, my grandparent's house. They just renovated it, and it's amazing! About a half mile to downtown Carmel, and a mile to the beach. Jax l[...]

What I Ate Wednesday: Vacation Edition

Another What I Ate Wednesday, but this time I wanted to do one while I was on vacation. And let me tell you, it's not perfect, but it's life, and... I tracked! I enjoyed myself! I didn't stress once about it! I did my best to estimate when we ate out or when I wasn't cooking. Since I'm still on eastern time, I woke up at 5am and had a quick pre workout of my usual, ThinkThin Bar that I packed with me. At 6am I dropped in at a CrossFit box and had a great workout, burned over[...]

Gas Station Snacks

Thanksgiving is coming up in less than two weeks, and for many people this means traveling. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving and a few days before Christmas are some of the busiest travel days of the year. Packing snacks for the road is best, but sometimes you just need a treat when you are road tripping. Grabbing a snack while stopping for gas can be tempting, so here are my top snack picks that will keep you on track, and satisfied. Sweet Snacks: Quest Bars: 21g Carbs/ 8g Fat/ 21g P[...]
