I just got done cleaning out our toy room...trash piles, donate piles, move down to the basement piles. We don't need anymore toys. Do you feel me? Here are my top 10 gift recommendations for the kiddos that are NOT toys! And I've linked my favorites and/or what we have bought for the kids. 1. Lessons. In our case it will be swim lessons, but there are so many options…gymnastics, a basketball league, ninja class, etc. This gives them a weekly activity where they can have fun, me[...]

Healthier Halloween Treats

Halloween is quickly approaching, which can also mean lots and lots of sugar. Now don't get me wrong, I let my toddler have some sugar, especially on special occasions, like Halloween night. But with school, parties, etc. Halloween seems to be celebrated for at least a full week, so I've created some healthier, lower sugar alternatives for both you and your littles. Most of these items are extremely allergy friendly as well! Boo Bark! I used SoChatti’s meltable chocolate. SoChatti is[...]

I just searched for several pumpkin chili recipes, and couldn't find one where I had all the ingredients listed, so I took some ideas from a few recipes and it was really good. There is not a strong pumpkin flavor, but the texture is amazing and you get all the nutrition benefits of the of the pumpkin. What You Need: 1 lb. ground beef 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced[...]

Okay, so originally I mentioned I would highlight a favorite product each day of the sale, and got some feedback that you rather have all my picks up front so you could shop once. You all are smart! I like this idea much better. So here we go, here are my Top 10 picks, and basically my current favorite Beautycounter products (except for CounterTime, which is my obsession, but not included in the sale). 10. Lip Gloss & Lip Sheers The lip glosses are smooth, not sticky and have[...]

Baby Led Weaning

As a mother of two kids who are well beyond the Baby Led Weaning (BLW) stage, I will begin with a few disclaimers.  I have only done BLW twice (since I only have two kids), but my success rate is 100%.  I am neither a doctor nor a nutritionist.  My husband is from Jamaica and thinks it’s funny that in the United States we give a special title of “Baby Led Weaning,” to what they call in Jamaica simply “feeding your baby.”  When I spoke to my eldest child’s pediatr[...]
